"The work of a young Belgrade artist Marko Tubic presents an example of consistent and thoroughly deliberate artistic activity. The artist primarily presents fantastic figural compositions based on the presentation of different corporeality referring to historical experiences, excerpted fromByzantine, mannerist, metaphysical and surrealist painting. Atmosphere and drama of the composition are highly expressed with pulsating chiaroscuro, which additionally contributes to the effect of complete pathos. However, out of the achievements of purely painterly elements which are surely not to be neglected and greatly contribute to the authenticity of Tubic’s poetics and expression, are the presented figures, i.e. fascinating bodies which persistently escape any categorization. We are faced with androgynous or completely hybrid bodies in explicitly emotional or sexual status and poses. Presenting multiple identities through their natural givens, the artist articulates his own thoughts of the body’s limits and the modes of their constituency". Vladimir Bjelicic, art historian
